Redelegation: DA_2661_2025.09.11_Chancellor_EVCP

(Original Letter Available Upon Request)

EXECUTIVE VICE CHANCELLOR & PROVOST

September 11, 2025

Re: Delegation of Authority 2661 – Execution of Agreements

Pursuant to Presidential Delegation of Authority 2661 regarding the execution of agreements dated June

13, 2025, I am redelegating to your role as Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost the authority to

negotiate and execute various agreements required with outside organizations, agencies, and individuals

to implement approved programs and activities within your areas of responsibility.

Within the scope of this delegation, you are authorized to negotiate and execute all such agreements

except those which: contain provisions falling within the restrictions and limitations set forth in Standing

Order 100.4(dd), require approval of The Regents because of specific Regental policy, or require

approval by the President pursuant to specific memoranda issued from time to time. President Drake’s

delegation letter provides examples of what is and is not allowable under this authority.

The authority provided by this delegation is broad and should be exercised with

discretion. Redelegation should be limited to appropriate levels of authority. Any redelegation of

authority shall be in writing, with a copy to the Campus Delegations of Authority Coordinator. If you

have any questions or concerns, contact the Campus Delegations of Authority Coordinator at

contactdelegations@berkeley.edu.

This delegation is effective immediately and supersedes President Gardner’s December 30, 1991

Delegation of Authority 1058.

Sincerely,

Richard K. Lyons

Chancellor
