Key Committees

  • OERCS is responsible for staffing and leading the UC Berkeley Compliance Committee, which includes all members of the Chancellor's Cabinet. The committee reviews the annual Campus Compliance Work Plan and provides input and guidance to the Chief Ethics, Risk, and Compliance Officer (CERCO) on overall compliance strategy as well as emerging compliance issues. The committee also works with the CERCO to ensure that compliance priorities and considerations are incorporated into the long-term strategic plans, operations, and mission of the university.
  • The Compliance and Enterprise Risk Committee (CERC) consists of representatives from each division that represents major administrative functions across campus. CERC approves new campus policies and conducts an annual compliance risk assessment for the campus. CERC is chaired by the Chief Ethics, Risk and Compliance Officer (CERCO).
  • The Information Risk Governance Committee (IRGC) is charged by CERC to provide the campus framework for institutional governance of information risk, including the balance between privacy and information security. IRGC is co-chaired by a member of the OERCS leadership team.
  • The Data Governance Committee provides strategic oversight of the management, access and use of the University’s institutional datasets. DGC includes members of the OERCS leadership team.
  • The Coordinated Community Review Team on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence and Misconduct (CCRT), composed of a broad representative range of campus partners, advises campus leadership and community members about policy, best practices, education, prevention, and response to sexual violence and sexual harassment. CCRT is co-convened by members of the OERCS leadership team.
